Heister House lends a hand to the GSVCC Building Project
The new Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce "Made in the Valley" building showcases craftsmanship by Heister House Millworks. According to the GSVCC mission statement, “The Made in the Valley chamber building will showcase the handiwork of the Valley's businesses."
Heister House lent its handiwork by milling the trim, flooring, paneling, and stairs for the new 5,000 sq. ft. building. From the beginning, Heister House worked closely with Denise Skotedis, interior designer, and Janice Wilson, Director of Special Projects, to choose wood species and profiles that were both indigenous to the Susquehanna Valley and conducive to the décor theme envisioned by the Chamber.
Bingaman & Sons donated the cherry, red oak, and white oak used in the project and Heister House milled the lumber, creating a rustic V-groove cathedral ceiling, beautiful floors, and a three-panel door, among other things.
Heister House is proud to be a part of this project and welcomes the opportunity to showcase its dedication to quality craftsmanship.
